Pre-coating on screws and plastic inserts
Sealing and locking screws and inserts for plastics
Screws and fasteners with self-tapping threads are used in soft materials such as plastics, composites (SMC, etc.), aluminium and magnesium.
The application of a microencapsulated adhesive to the self-tapping part of these parts prevents loosening due to vibration and shock.
The pre-coating of self-tapping threads also solves the problem of ‘galling’. This phenomenon occurs when the screwing torque exceeds the strength of the material. The pre-coated solution consists of gluing the self-tapping thread to reduce tightening torques.
We can also provide a sealing function on self-tapping screws (trilobal thread) by pre-coating the thread with a sealing resin.
