Application of pre-coating on clinch parts
Rivet and clinch parts are effective solutions for attaching a threaded hole or thread to thin sheet metal.
Pre-coating enables us to incorporate sealing, thread-locking and anti-seizing functions into countersunk nuts and clinch studs.
The sealing products that we pre-coat on the countersunk nuts achieve an IP67 tightness level. All variants of blind nuts can be processed: thin, countersunk or cylindrical head – cylindrical, knurled or hexagonal body. Crimp studs can be treated in the same way.
It is sometimes necessary to slow down the tapping of blind nuts or the threading of clinch studs. In these cases, we apply a microencapsulated adhesive or polyamide resin to ensure that the fastener does not loosen.
The pre-coating technique can also be used for anti-seize treatments on crimping fasteners, particularly when they are made of stainless steel. In this case, the thread is coated with an anti-seize varnish to prevent seizing when the fastener is screwed on.
Pre-coated crimping nuts and studs are used in a wide range of applications: car bodywork, HGV manufacture, electrical engineering, etc.
