In the demanding field of industry, sealing is a crucial challenge to ensure equipment performance, safety and durability. We recently broke new ground by introducing Precote 15 as a solution to our customers’ complex needs. Meeting needs with efficiency
A recent challenge in the aerospace sector prompted us to explore new approaches. A customer was looking for an effective alternative to Nyseal, a traditionally used under-head sealant. It was here that we opted for Precote 15 under-head. This innovative sealing solution, developed in-house by Soprima, offers a cost-effective, high-performance alternative.
Precote 15: A technical revolution
Unlike Nyseal, Precote 15 is deposited directly at Soprima, reducing lead times and costs for our customers. What’s more, it offers superior thermal performance, making it ideal for demanding applications such as those in the aerospace industry.
Integration and evolution
Soprima has successfully integrated Precote 15 into its pre-coating range, opening up new possibilities for solving other waterproofing challenges. This flexibility and support are key elements of our customer-centric approach.

Interview dialogue with Kevin Maya :
Hatun: Hello everyone, we are pleased to present an innovative solution from Soprima with one of our customers Hatun : Hello Kevin.
Kevin: Hello Hatun.
Hatun: Shall we start with a little introduction?
Kevin: Yes, I’m Kévin Maya, technical manager at Soprima. I joined the company in 2022 and have a degree in mechanical design.
Hatun : Okay, thank you. And can you introduce Soprima Industrie?
Kevin: Yes, Soprima Industrie is a 40-year-old company. We specialize in pre-coating, i.e. applying sealants, adhesives or braking products to smooth or threaded parts. Our main customers have historically been in the automotive industry, but we also work with sectors such as aeronautics, luxury goods and electronics.
Hatun: Could you tell us about one of your customers’ problems?
Kevin: Yes, we had a problem with an aeronautical customer on a military application who was looking to replace Nyseal, an under-head sealant. We suggested Precote 15, also a sealant. This was an application with a milled head, which was quite innovative for us because it was the first time we’d applied it.
Hatun: Could you tell us about one of your customers’ problems?
Kevin: Yes, we had a problem with an aeronautical customer on a military application who was looking to replace Nyseal, an under-head sealant. We suggested Precote 15, also a sealant. This was an application with a milled head, which was quite innovative for us because it was the first time we’d applied it.
Hatun: And why did this customer choose Precote 15 over Nyseal?
Kevin: We recommended the Precote 15 for several reasons. Firstly, Nyseal is outsourced to the USA, which means longer lead times and higher costs. The Precote 15 has several advantages, including lower cost because it’s manufactured directly at Soprima, with shorter lead times. It also offers better technical performance, particularly at higher operating temperatures than Nyseal. All in all, we have a product that is equivalent to, if not better than, Nyseal.
Hatun: And you think this solution can be applied to other issues?
Kevin: Absolutely. Since then, we’ve added the Precote 15 to our under-head pre-coating range, mainly on milled heads but also on flat heads. We also offer Precote 200, but this depends on our customers’ specifications. Sometimes, we even do a double pre-coating with a bonding agent also made at Soprima.
